DR MONISHA BISWAS

Monisha Biswas is a fresh PhD graduate from the Department of Human-Centered Computing, Faculty of IT of Monash University in Australia. Her PhD thesis focus on the role of mobile technologies in the sustainability of women-led micro-enterprises and women’s empowerment in rural Bangladesh. Currently, she is also serving as a Teaching Associate and Research Associate at the Faculty of Information Technology of Monash University.

She is a high level expert in qualitative research specialising in case study, ethnography and evaluative methodologies. Monisha’s Bachelor and Masters degree in Social Anthropology from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh provided the basic foundation for that. As a development professional, she served with several national and international development organisations including UNDP, ActionAid, Oxfam in Bangladesh for 20 years. She led several successful advocacy, campaign, and research projects in South Asia and South Africa. She contributed as a civil society representative with the government delegation team of Bangladesh in the UNFCC climate change negotiation process.

She is passionate about evidence-based research and advocacy on inclusive digital excluded in developing vs developed contexts and open for future research collaboration.
